February New York Photonics "Second Tuesday"

Please join us on Tuesday, February 9th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm for February 2016 New York Photonics networking. The event will take place at the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC).

There will be a bar and plenty of hors d’oeurves to sustain your networking and science inquiry fervor.

This time we will have a facilitator on hand for the Science On A Sphere exhibition. The exhibit explores the paths of storms, changes in ocean temperature, the surface of Mars and other geospatial information, none of which would be possible without the numerous aerial, satellite-based or mission-based payloads supported by New York State OPI research and manufacturing.

Science On a Sphere is an interactive globe and three-dimensional data projection system that transforms real-time data from our Earth and other planets into striking graphic representations with stunning detail and accuracy. It is the focal point of the RMSC’s new Data Theater, the re-invented Schuyler C. Townson Research Library reading room, where geographical tools and other artifacts will be featured as the exhibit progresses.

Has your company played a role in the science behind Science On A Sphere?  Come share your experiences with colleagues.
