Applied Image Receives ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Certificate of Accreditation

Rochester, N.Y., November 5, 2019 – Applied Image Inc. is pleased to announce that our Rochester, NY based calibration laboratory has been approved for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) for demonstrating technical competence in the field of CALIBRATION. The scope of accreditation applies to activities related to Length–Dimensional Metrology, and Photometry and Radiometry.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is the single-most important internationally accepted standard for test and calibration laboratories. For the past 40 years, Applied Image’s calibration laboratory has maintained the highest level of quality and technical competence and this accreditation formally recognizes its ability to produce accurate, precise, and consistent data.

“What a great year it has been for quality system improvements at Applied Image. One year ago, we announced receiving our ISO 9001:2015 certification with plans for the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation to follow.” Glenn Jackling, CEO & President, “To get both within a single year is a significant accomplishment and one our team is very proud of. It reaffirms our ongoing commitment to meeting the requirements of our customers, and provides absolute assurance that every product supplied or calibration result provided meet the highest of standards.”

Jackling continued, “We have the ability to report length measurements with uncertainties as low as 0.5 micron, and spectral reflection and transmission photometry for various types of grayscale and color calibration standards. We are also pleased to announce that that we are the first laboratory in the world to be ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited for the calibration of barcodes. The “Judge” devices we use for the production and calibration of 1D and 2D barcode calibration standards used throughout the industry are included within our scope of accreditation.
