Rochester Precision Optics has decided to relocate its Manchester, NH Plastic Optics Division to their recently expanded Rochester, NY facility. Moving the Plastic Optics Division into the main facility will allow the manufacturing group to fully access all of the engineering and manufacturing support services within our main facility (i.e. Accounting, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Planning , Quality Assurance, Document Control, Human Resources and Facilities Management). Plastic Optics will report into the Operations Group and will complement the other core competencies within the 100,000+ square foot RPO optics manufacturing campus including:
- Design Engineering
- Optical Assembly and Test
- Precision Glass Molding
- Diamond Turning and Tool Making
- Conventional and CNC Grinding, Polishing and Centering
- Thin Film Optical Coating
- CNC Machine Shop

RPO also announced the promotions of David Schmidt to Chief Scientist and Howard Wong to Production Manager, Plastic Optics. They will both be relocating to Rochester NY as part of this move. David will report to Robert Benson, RPO Director of Engineering & Technology and Howard will report to Rob Thorpe, RPO Production Manager.
