Investment in university research is not enough to sustain an industry where New York still has a strategic advantage over the rest of the world. An aging workforce and some of the highest taxes in the United States put New York’s Optics, Photonics and Imaging Industry at risk. Investment in curricula, lab equipment, marketing and recruitment and targeted training are all critical for New York, and for Rochester to sustain and thrive as the center of our nation’s OPI Industry.
