University Of Rochester Institute of Optics Hosts First Optics Summer Camp

The Institute launched their inaugural Photon Camp for high school students the week of June 24th.  15 rising seniors from West Irondequoit High School in attendance spent the week learning about the field of Optics.

The camp focused on four areas:  lectures, lab-work, educational field trips, and a capstone project.  The capstone project was be presented on Friday, June 28 from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM in Goergen 108. The students hoped to have a big audience that was invited to evaluate each group’s presentation and vote for the team that impressed the most.
